Part L Building Regulations require a U-value of at least 2.2W/m2K: Brett Martin Daylight Systems recommend the use of at least triple skin rooflights in all applications.

To see the light transmission properties of the polycarbonate rooflight, look at the table below:

Clear – high visibility, light transmission maximised, Clarity of vision of views and objects through the dome maximised.

Opal – diffused light and solar control, a unique combination of high levels of diffused light transmission and privacy, ultimate prevention of solar glare and mass reduction of solar heat gain, reduced visual capacity by impairing vision through the dome of sights and objects.

Patterned – privacy, marries privacy with high levels of light processing, less significant daylight, repels sights of views and objects through the dome.

Bronze – solar control, limits solar glare and heat gain, generates a lower transmission of light.
